Safeguarding means protecting a person’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect. Everyone has a responsibility to safeguard people in their care, but extra care must be taken to protect those who are least able to protect themselves. Children and young people, and vulnerable adults, can be at particular risk of abuse or neglect.
Perinatal MH Training CIC is committed to the protection of all children and vulnerable adults. We believe everyone has a responsibility to promote the welfare of all children, young people, and vulnerable adults to keep them safe and to practise in a way that protects them. We give equal priority to keeping all children and young people safe regardless of their age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation
The overall mission of Perinatal MH Training CIC is to sustain the perinatal mental health community to promote innovative practice, encourage research and high quality clinical and practical care. The Company aims to facilitate, promote and communicate by training and education all aspects of the mental health of women, men/partners, infants and their families throughout pregnancy and the first two years after childbirth.
Equality and diversity are very important to Perinatal MH Training CIC’s values. We therefore give due regard to the need to eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation, to advance equality of opportunity, and to foster good relations between people who share a relevant protected characteristic (as cited in the Equality Act 2010). The following are also relevant: European Convention on Human Rights, UN Convention on Rights of the Child and UN Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities. This policy will therefore not discriminate, either directly or indirectly, on the grounds of the nine protected characteristics (age; disability; gender reassignment; marriage/civil partnership; pregnancy & maternity; race; religion & belief; sex; and sexual orientation).
